I visited a collector's home in December near Rocky Mount.   It was almost sundown and the barren, winter landscape caught my eye. This translated to an atmospheric painting of the darkening sky and the golden field with a warm wood barn in the distance.  The cool sweep of the road leads your eye into the composition. This is accentuated by the rustic wooden fence that borders the drive.  A stark tree adds a vertical line to the composition.  What beauty can be found in the winter landscape of rural North Carolina!
