Ann Hair is an award winning artist who draws her inspiration and palette from nature but enjoys tweaking the colors a bit and turning them up a notch. "I particularly enjoy capturing the play of light and shadows cast by brilliant early morning or late afternoon light." She loves working en plein aire and from life.
The summer months finds her exploring coastal NC so check out the paintings under the "Coastal" heading. The pleinair group she paints with explores the NC countryside. These works are generally found under "People and Places". "Still Lifes" are the result of working in the studio when it's too hot to venture outdoors.
A graduate of Daemen College's fine arts program in Buffalo, NY, Ms. Hair has continued her studies with nationally reknowned artists. Her work has won awards in local juried shows and is in national and local collections. Currently, she is represented by Spectrum Art Gallery in Wilmington, NC, Wade Designs in Rocky Mount, NC and the Churton Street Gallery, Hillsborough, NC.
